A Larvitar sat slumped up against one of the buildings in Tao Village, curiously watching the strange Pokémon that had just arrived not long ago. They had brought a strange onion creature with them. It was sick and injured; he could smell the blood of it. The Larvitar then glanced up at the bright blue sky. He knew that the battle with the Zoroark soon approached, like it did every new moon.

It was a horrible gruesome battle that would usually last the entire day. Each side would lose Pokémon. There was always death. It was a usual thing around here. He had to fight in the battle every new moon. He was left with some scars, but nothing serious. His skin was rock hard and protected him from a lot of their attacks. He carefully reached up his hand to touch his bandaged face, remembering the worst of his battle scars a long time ago. It wasn’t in a battle with the foxes. No, it happened to him when he lived in Prismatic Jungle…

The Larvitar wore a tan scarf that was wrapped around his right eye and some of his broken horn. He wore his scarf to hide his scars. He didn’t want to be reminded of them or that horrible time. However, every time he touched the bandage around his face, it all came back to him. The horrible memories.

He sat there for a while until he heard someone call out. The Larvitar looked up and saw a Charmeleon with a green scarf. He seemed to be trying to gather other Pokémon to him. The Larvitar decided to get up and see what he wanted.

“…. the Tree of Life. So, is anyone coming with me and Grand Kec?” He was saying as the Larvitar approached. The Tree of Life… Why does he want to go there? Then he thought about it. Maybe to help that onion girl… Why risk so much to save her though? That tree is dangerous.

“I’ll go!” said one from the group.

“We’ll go too! We want to help Jasmine!”

“Yah! Besides, you’re our leader Mike. Of course we’ll help!”

The small group that was in front of the Charmeleon, Mike, began saying their agreement and offering their help. Don’t they realize what they have to do? The Larvitar thought, shocked. These Pokémon didn’t look like killers.

“I’ll go too.” The Larvitar said. He didn’t think that these Pokémon would be much of a help against what they were about to face. The Tree of Life was dangerous. He decided that he’d tag along and help if needed.

“Alright then, Grand Kec wants to leave right away. If we don’t leave any sooner, the Zoroark may be lying in wait in the forest. We’ll be in more danger if we wait any longer.” Mike explained. He then waved his hand for them to follow and made his way towards the exit where GK was waiting. The Larvitar followed them. He was unfamiliar with the lot of Pokémon. They were all from… the future, was it? He wasn’t exactly sure. It didn’t make sense to him.

The small group exited Tao and made their way towards the Tree of Life. He spotted Grand Kec at the front of the group as he lead the way, but then the Kecleon seemed to have caught his eye. He whispered something to Mike and then came back to the Larvitar.

“Terra! It’s so nice of you to join us.” The Kecleon said with his usual creepy smile. “Are you sure you’re up to the journey? I thought you were going to stay in camp to defend it.”

“I was… But I thought you needed help.” Terra told him as they continued to walk. Grand Kec’s grin deepened.

“Alright then. I just don’t want to be having to look after you, is all.” He replied. “You prove to be a poor fighter. The enemy is going to be strong and much different than you have faced before. You have heard stories of the Tree of Life, correct?” Terra nodded. “Then you understand the danger. However, if you think that you can handle such an opponent, then so be it. I won’t stop you. Just try not to die. I find you much more useful back at the village. You’re an excellent distraction.”

“Yes Micle.” The Larvitar replied.

“Well then, I best show Michael where it is he should be going. I only told him some of the directions, but now it seems that he is taking a wrong turn.” The Kecleon said before leaving him. He went back up to the front, guiding Mike on the right path again.

After walking for awhile, the group finally arrived at the base of a tree. It was a giant tree that’s roots spread throughout the forest. Suddenly, black spikes shot up from the ground, knocking everyone off their feet. Terra fell on his back, but then got up again, searching for the cause of what had attacked.

“Do not trespass. This is your final warning.” He heard a voice say. He then pinpointed it and saw a Shaymin. It was the Guardian of The Tree of Life. It was Ceylon. He heard Mike say something to it, but his beating heart blocked out his and Ceylon’s conversation. The blood roared in his ears. This is a Guardian… He repeated in his head. He had never been in the presence of a guardian before. He’d finally have the chance to fight one, or possibly kill it.

“…No! We can’t… we can’t do this!” Mike pleaded as his mind turned back to the conversation.

The Shaymin bristled with anger as it glared down at him from its perch on the tree branch. “Your cowardice angers me!” He growled, his voice full of rage. “My friends, let us send them back away from this sacred place!”

Terra noticed other Shaymin, in their land form, appear from all sorts of places on the giant tree. There were hundreds of them; their green eyes gleaming in the shadows.

“If she is to live, I am to die! That is all there is to it!” Ceylon continued. “Begone, or slay me!”

“…” Mike didn’t say anything. He only stared up at the Shaymin with a face full of frustration and confusion.

“You heard him! Heh heh!” Grand Kec cried out as he leaped forward, swinging his cane at the lead Shaymin.
Technically, Terra isn't on Team Treasure Raiders yet, but he will be. He'll decide to go back with the other Pokemon to their timeline and then meet up with Sage.
